Coco-peat or Peat Moss ??

What is that?

Coco peat is the 'coir fibre pith' or 'coir dust' a bi-product produced when processing the coconut husks for extraction of long fibre from the husks. Coco peat is the binding material that comes from the fibre fraction of the coconut husk.

Coco peat is used for seed starting, bedding plants, planters, gardens, container plants. Anywhere you can use peat moss. The properties of Coco Peat make it resistant to bacterial and fungal growth. So coco peat is a multipurpose growing medium that provides new opportunities for Potting Mix Suppliers, Seedling Nurseries, Hydroponic Growers & Golf Green Constructors.

Coco peat is a proven natural alternative to mined peat moss, therefore using it helps slow down peat extraction from environmentally sensitive swamps worldwide. Used as a growing medium, Coco peat outperforms most of the popular brands of Peat and Sphagnum Peats.

Coco Peat holds water rather than shedding it like traditional peat does! It retains water 8-9 times of its weight.

Coco Peat has the ability to store and release nutrients to plants for extended periods. It also has great oxygenation properties that are important for healthy root development.

It has a pH of 5.0-6.8 which is neutral to slightly acidic. This makes it great for alkaline garden soils.

Coco Peat is very slow to disintegrate, whereas peat breaks down within two years after application, Coco Peat begins to fall apart only when it becomes 10 years old. Therefore it offers long term benefits to the users. It can even be reused for 4 years!

The coir dust is washed, heat treated, screened and graded before being processed into various Coco peat products for Horticultural and Agricultural applications.

We are providing Coco Peat products in following five different qualities for Horticulture and Floriculture purposes and business:

Soil Substrates - RHP ( SS - RHP )

Coco Peat process as per RHP specifications, norms & standards by washing with fresh clean water by batch washing process, then buffered/treated with CaNO3 which reduce the considerable levels of Na & K and increase the level of Ca & Mg. The Un-buffered coco peat fixes Ca & Mg while releasing K. so called organic Coir complex accounts for this fixation. In case the coco peat has not been buffered, one has to provide higher levels of Ca2+ and Mg2+ to be sure that the plant will not suffer from shortage of these minerals. All materials procured, Processed as per the system and control of RHP, and supplied with RHP Mark on the product.

In this quality, only the material is buffered, not supplied with RHP mark.

Reconditioner ( SR - ORGANIC )

Coco Peat is washed only with natural fresh clean water without using any Chemicals , pesticides and Fertilizers to control and reduce the level of salinity, Na, K, Cl to the required level of Electro Conductivity (EC) below 1.0 mS/cm (Extraction method of 1: 1.5 with water ). Thus Organic Coco peat is producedNPOP and the Regulation (EEC) N 2902 / 91.

Reconditioner ( SR )

Coco Peat is washed with fresh clean water along with Chemicals and Fertilizers by batch washing process to control and reduce the level of salinity, Na, K, Cl to the required level of Electro Conductivity (EC) below 1.0 mS/cm ( Extraction method of 1: 1.5 with water ) . This quality material is used as Soil Reconditioner.

Soil Absorber ( SA )

Peat as fresh raw material without any washing process, just get from the raw coconut husk with high EC levels. Approximately the level of EC would be more than 4.0 mS/cm. This quality material can be used as Soil Absorber.
